Fran Wylie - 2013 Volunteer of the Year
Fran Wylie received the prestigious Goldberg Volunteer of the Year Award for 2103. Fran was recognized for her innumerable hours of work organizing and leading volunteers in presenting a classroom desert experience to all fourth grades in the foothills area.
On April 19th 42 volunteers from all FCF programs and activities gathered at the Phoeniz Zoo to be recognized for the outstanding work they do for FCF. “Without them, we could not function”, says Executive Director Karen Mackiewich. While at the zoo attendees were treated to a “close encounter” with several charismatic zoo residents.
The Chet Goldberg Volunteer of the Year Award was initiated in 2011 to honor the founding volunteer of the Foothills Community Foundation, Chet Goldberg; any FCF and FCF program volunteer is eligable for this award. Fran’s name will appear on the permanent plaque as the 2013 winner along with the 2012 winner Rosie Ciammitti.
Also recognized on the 19th were Amy Cummings and Mark Sweeney.
